Robert K. Ploss Jr. passed away on Jan. 10, 2019, at HealthAlli­ance Hospital, Broadway Campus, with his wife by his side.

Robert was born in Kingston on May 12, 1945, the son of the late Dr. Robert and Helen (Ennist) Ploss. He graduated from Kingston High School, Class of 1963, where he played varsity football and baseball. He received his BS from Union College in Schenectad­y, N.Y., and a Master’s Degree from SUNY New Paltz.

Bob was the CEO of Colonial City Moving Storage until his retirement in 2008. He was an avid bowler for over 40 years and was inducted into the KBA Hall of Fame in 1998. He was a member of the Hall of Fame board and served as secretary and president. He was a former member of the First Presbyteri­an Church in Kingston, where he served as an elder, a trustee and a Sunday School teacher. He was a member of the Fair Street Reformed Church and served as chief deacon and on various ministries. Bob enjoyed golfing, hiking and biking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy (Crozier) Ploss; his son, Robert Jeffrey Ploss of Orlando, Fla.; his daughter, Heather (Robert) Crowley of Colliervil­le, Tenn.; and his granddaugh­ters, Alexandra and Caroline Crowley.

Arrangemen­ts are entrusted to the care of A. Carr & Son Funeral Home, 65 Lucas Ave, Kingston, N.Y., where family and friends may visit on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, at 10:30 a.m., the Rev. Kendra VanHouten officiatin­g
