Helen Marie Potter, 93, of Kingston
KINGSTON >> Helen Marie Potter, 93, of Kingston, N.Y., passed away on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at Golden Hill Nursing & Rehab Center in Kingston.
She was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Kingston, the daughter of the late Robert Hogan and Marion (Cain) Hogan.
She married John H. Potter, one of the original Potter Bros., on April 1, 1943.
Helen was an avid golfer, having achieved three “holes in one” — one at her home course of Wiltwyck Golf Club and two in Florida. She was a former member of the Town of Esopus United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.
Helen is survived by her children, John H. Potter Jr. and his wife Nan of Kingston, Susan Salzmann of Warren, N.J., Joann Potter and her husband John Gorman of Rhinebeck, and Diane May and her husband William of Red Hook, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were her greatest reward in life. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Phyllis Kastner, Robert Hogan, Jean Mitchell, and Ronald Hogan, and her son-in-law, Thomas Salzmann.
Arrangements are entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, Kingston. Services will be held privately.
