Free repairs for broken items in New Paltz

WHAT: Repair Cafe WHEN: Saturday, Jan 19, from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. WHERE: New Paltz United Methodist Church, 1 Grove St.

DETAILS: Repair Café offers free repairs of household items by neighbors who are also skilled volunteers. Bring something to be fixed, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, clothing, jewelry, wood repairs and “wordsmithing.” Participants include doll expert Felicia Casey, Vince Murray with his welding truck for metal repairs, weather permitting, and Don Grice, restorer of damaged or faded photos. Supervised activities for children focus on reuse and how things work.
