Marlboro, Roosevelt, Ellenville post wins
Marlboro High edged out Wallkilll 66-63 in a back-and- forth Mid-Hudson Athletic League boys basketball game Friday to improve to 11-5.
The Dukes held the early momentum, getting off to an 18-13 lead after the first quarter. But the Panthers turned the tables in the second, scoring 17 points while holding Marlboro to 5 to turn a five-point deficit into a seven-point lead at the half. But the Dukes rallied in the third, going on a 25-19 run that left them trailing 49-48 heading into the final period.
Danny Rusk scored a careerhigh 20 points, Anthony Musacchio pitched in 14 and Giovanna Tamburri had 12 for the Dukes (11-5).
Matthew Shea scored 21 points, Demetress Wilson had 18 and Jack Baccaro tacked on 11 for the Panthers.
Roosevelt 57, Red Hook 51
At Hyde Park, the Presidents rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat the Raiders.
“In the second half the defense
was key,” Roosevelt Coach Kevin Hart said. “They limited Chris Yearwood’s opportunities.”
Quentin Chapman scored 17 points, Dylan Craft had 13 and Mike Gertz tacked
on 12 to lead the Presidents.
Ellenville 79, John A. Coleman Catholic 27
At Ellenville, the Dukes cruised past the Statesmen to improve to 15-1.
Sivon Diconcilio scored 21 points, grabbed 4 reboundsand had 4 assists. Edjren Jorge pitched in
12 points and 7 rebounds, and Deante Bruce contributed 12 points and 4 steals.
Angelo Rogers had 8 points and Jack Mautone had 6 points for Coleman.
Highland 75, Saugerties 65
At Highland, Cameron
Ness put up a double-double, scoring 26 points and grabbing 16 rebounds to lift the Huskies over the Sawyers.
Sean Benkert tacked on 10 points for Highland (107)
Ethan Conrad pitched in 22 points and Ryan Whitaker had 15 for Saugerties.
