Roosevelt tops Red Hook in MHAL contest

Kelsea Demelis scored 18 points and Jaelen Daubon added 15 to lead Roosevelt High over Red Hook 56-49 in Mid-Hudson Athletic League girls action Friday.

The Raiders got off to a 12-7 lead in the first, but the Presidents answered back with a 1912 second to go ahead 26-24 at the half.

Morgan Tompkins scored 15 points and Chrissy Gilderslee­ve added 11 to pace Red Hook.

Highland 61, Saugerties 39

At Saugerties, Bri Rozzi celebrated her birthday in a big way by pouring in 35 points, going 1111 at the line and grabbing 16 rebounds, as the Huskies rolled over the Sawyers.

Highland got off to a fast start, going up 22-10 after the first quarter and riding a 14-9 second to a 36-19 half time lead. The Huskies continued their momentum in third, going on a 20-9 run to put the game away.

Bridgette Carle scorde 13 points

for Highland.

Erin Dudzic scored 9 points, Grace VanRoy recorded 7 points and 4 rebounds, and Christine Collins added 7 points for the Sawyers.

Rondout Valley 39, Liberty 26

At Kyserike, the Ganders led 19-10 at the half and never looked back as they topped the Indians in non-league action.

Rondout Valley closed out the game with a 9-4 fourth.

Jessica Meyer scored 11 points and Patti Tetta added in 10 to guide the Ganders.

Ally Roth scored 14 points for Liberty.

New Paltz 58, Poughkeeps­ie 25

At New Paltz, the Huguenots built a 40-8 at halftime and never looked back as they dominated the Pioneers.

Hailey Osborne scored 25 points and Anna McDuffie had 10 to lead New Paltz.
