Claverack
• DWI: Matthew C. Smith, 24, of Elizaville, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 6:30 a.m. Sunday on U.S. Route 9 and was charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a bloodalcohol content exceeding .08 and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Smith was released with an appearance ticket for Claverack Town Court.
Coxsackie
• Drugs/DWAI/weapons: Joseph J. Knott, 23, of West Coxsackie, was arrested by state police at Coxsackie at 11:24 p.m. Saturday on state Route 81 and was charged with the misdemeanors of operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration. He was also charged with the violation of unlawful marijuana possession. Knott was released on his own recognizance.
Gallatin
• DWI: Joshua L. Benitez, 25, of Bronx, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 12:10 p.m. Saturday on the Taconic State Parkway at milepost 75 south and was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance. Benitez was also charged with the violation of unlawful marijuana possession. Benitez was released with an appearance ticket for Gallatin Town Court.
Lloyd
• DWI: David B. Acuri, 31, of Walden, was arrested by state police at Highland at 3:58 a.m. Sunday on state Route 299 and was charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a bloodalcohol content exceeding .08. Acuri was released with an appearance ticket for Lloyd Town Court. • DWI: Liliana Hinosjos Madrid, 22, of Oyster Boy, was arrested by state police at Highland at 1:50 a.m. Sunday and was charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08. She was also issued a traffic ticket for moving from lane unsafely and an illegal signal when parked. She was released with an appearance ticket for Lloyd Town Court.
New Paltz
• DWI: Joseph A. Shorten, 19, of Wurtsboro, was arrested by state police at Highland at 2:45 a.m. Sunday on Plattekill Avenue and was charged with misdemeanors of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08. Shorten was released with a ticket for New Paltz Town Court.
Rhinebeck
• Drugs: Ramon A. Robles, 42, of Saugerties, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 9:35 p.m. Saturday on state Route 9G and was charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with violation of unlawful marijuana possession. Robles was released with an appearance ticket for Rhinebeck Town Court.
• DWI: Anthony J. Bonneville, 23, of Pine Plains, was arrested by state police at Claverack at 1:16 a.m. Sunday on state Route 308 and was charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a blood-alcohol content exceeding .08. Bonneville was released with an appearance ticket for Rhinebeck Town Court.
Saugerties
• Theft: Donley G. Monroe II, 20, of Glasco, was arrested by the Saugerties Police Department Saturday and was charged with felony grand larceny and the misdemeanor of petit larceny in connection with an investigation into stolen pocketbook from a vehicle in the parking lot of the IXL gym parking lot at 3139 U.S. Route 9W. Police said they responded to the gym at 7:53 p.m. on January 21 for the reported theft of the pocketbook from a vehicle. Authorities said Monroe was taken to police headquarters and was released on his recognizance with a ticket to appear in Saugerties Town Court.
• DWI: Steven M. Bartells, 47, of Saugerties, was arrested by the Saugerties Police Department at 9:21 p.m. Saturday and was charged with the misdemeanors of drunken driving and driving a motor vehicle with a bloodalcohol content exceeding .08. Police said they observed him making a left turn onto Washington Avenue from Russell Street in the village without signaling. Authorities said they stopped Bartells and determined he was intoxicated. He was also issued a traffic ticket for failure to use a directional signal. Bartells was processed at police headquarters and was released to a third party with a ticket to appear in Saugerties Town Court.
Town of Ulster
• DWI: Jose J. Torres, 61, of Piermont, was arrested by Thruway state police at 3:44 a.m. Sunday on the New York state Thruway/interstate Route 87 and was charged with misdemeanors of drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle with a bloodalcohol content exceeding .08. He was also issued a traffic ticket for moving lane unsafely. Torres was released with an appearance ticket for Ulster Town Court.
