SUNY New Paltz earns Mil­i­tary Friendly honor

VIQTORY has rated SUNY New Paltz one of the 100 best schools in the coun­try for vet­er­ans and ser­vice mem­bers in its list of Mil­i­tary Friendly Schools.

It is the col­lege’s fifth year on the list, and the third con­sec­u­tive year earn­ing the ad­di­tional gold dis­tinc­tion.

The mil­i­tary-af­fil­i­ated stu­dent pop­u­la­tion has grown rapidly at SUNY New Paltz in re­cent years. In the 2017-18 aca­demic year, a record 67 mil­i­taryaf­fil­i­ated stu­dents grad­u­ated from New Paltz.

The Of­fice of Vet­eran & Mil­i­tary Ser­vices pro­vides a host of re­sources to mil­i­tary-af­fil­i­ated stu­dents, in­clud­ing early course regis­tra­tion, free park­ing per­mits, smooth credit trans­fer, team-build­ing events and help nav­i­gat­ing the ap­pli­ca­tion pro­cesses for GI Bill and other ben­e­fits earned through ser­vice.

They also work closely with civil­ian stu­dents, fac­ulty and staff, pro­vid­ing train­ing on unique chal­lenges faced by vet­er­ans and ser­vice mem­bers in their pursuit of higher ed­u­ca­tion.
