CATSKILL, N.Y. >> A Greene County jury on Friday convicted a homeless man in the death of a former Woodstock resident whose remains were found buried at a house in Catskill on Feb. 6, 2018.

The jury convicted Carlos Graham, age unavailable, whose last known residence was in Catskill, of seconddegree murder in the death of Brandyn Dayne “Multy” Foster, 31. The verdict was returned by the jury after it deliberated for a day and a half, the Greene County District Attorney’s Office said.

Graham was also convicted of three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny, concealment of a human corpse, two counts of tampering with physical evidence, all felonies. He faces a state prison term of up to 25 years to life when he is sentenced on April 2, authorities said.

Graham was arrested after an investigation by the Woodstock Police Department, the district attorney’s offices in Ulster and Greene counties, and the state police.

Graham was one of three suspects indicted in the case. Also charged were:

• Ashton Adams, 26, of Catskill, on charges of second-degree murder, conspiracy, hindering prosecution, grand larceny, concealment of a human corpse, and two counts of tampering with evidence, all felonies. He initially was charged March 30; a grand jury added the murder and conspiracy charges after hearing additional evidence in the case, District Attorney Joseph Stanzione said last July.

• Sade Knox, 30, of Kingston, who was arrested in Kingston on Thursday, June 28, 2018 and was charged with second-degree murder and conspiracy, both felonies. Authorities said Adams, Knox and Graham all knew each other.

While not providing specifics, Stanzione said last July that Adams “basically acted in concert with his cohorts ... to engage in the death of Brandyn Foster.”

Foster, reported missing more than a year earlier, was found dead Feb. 6, 2018, buried at a house on Tool House Road in Catskill, where he last lived. His remains were positively identified the same day.

State police declined to say whether the remains were found inside the house or outdoors.

The status of the cases against Adams and Knox was not immediately available.

Foster’s disappearance first was reported to Woodstock police on Jan. 26, 2017, by his mother, Bonnie Steinberg, who lives in the Ulster County town.
