Kingston proves too much for Cornwall

Kobi Buffa and Justin Longo scored four goals apiece and Ty Carpino dished out six assists Monday, guiding Kingston High to a 17-10 Orange County Interschol­astic Athletic Associatio­n boys lacrosse win over Cornwall.

Carpino also scored a pair of goals, Longo had an assist and Buffa had an assist and won 5-of-6 face-offs for the Tigers.

Also for Kingston, John Prizzi had a hat trick, Kevin Collins scored twice, Chapman Parker added two goals and an assist and Christian Augusti won 11 face-offs in the win.

Chris Rose had six goals and one assist, Brian Vovotry scored, Mike Decelstino added an assist and Jack Gullard scored three goals, including the 100th of his career, to lead Cornwall.

Nick Briethaupt and Travis Decker combined for six saves in goal for Kingston. Dragons goalkeeper Charlie Faurot made seven saves.

Kingston, now 8-5 overall, is home to Valley Central at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, for senior night.

Pine Bush 7, Highland 6

At Marlboro, Brayden Velazquez scored with just one

second left in regulation to give Pine Bush a wild victory over Highland.

The Huskies (12-3) scored three consecutiv­e goals to tie the match at 6-6 with 6:20 left, setting the stage for the last-second shot.

Velazquez and Steve Gage had two goals and an assist to lead Pine Bush (7-9). Kevin Brown and

Derek Serveis each had a goal and one assist, Frank Wise also scored and Jack Galloway added an assist for the Bushmen.

Roger Hegeman and Jack Young scored two goals apiece, Chris Hammond had two goals and two assists, and Christian Canino, Danny Rusk and Dean Klotz all distribute­d assists for Highland.

Highland keeper Lenny Casabura and Pine Bush’s Kyle Bradatsch each made seven saves.
