2 school board members running unopposed May 21

Incumbents Johanna Moore and Maggie Rothwell are running unopposed May 21 for re-election to the Board of Education.

Voting will be noon to 9 p.m. at Mill Road Elementary School.

Moore, 66, of 10 Rokeby Road, is a registered nurse. She is seeking her eighth three-year term on the board.

She graduated from Arlington High School in 1970 and earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Dutchess County Community College in 1974.

Moore has has lived in the Red Hook school district for 40 years and is married with two children.

Rothwell, 56, of 27 Echo Valley Road, is a musician employed by nursing homes to provide music therapy. She is seeking a second threeyear term on the board.

Rothwell graduated in 1980 from Pleasantvi­lle High School in Westcheste­r County, earned a bachelor’s degree in music education from Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam in 1984, and received a master’s degree in profession­al studies from SUNY New Paltz in 1990.

She is a member of the Northern Dutchess Community Coalition, Red Hook Together, and the District Level Team for the school district.

Rothwell has lived in the district for 32 years and is married with two children.
