Katie Zaferes led an American sweep of the women’s podium in the world series triathlon in Yokohama on Saturday.

Summer Rappaport and Taylor Spivey finished second and third within 77 seconds of Zaferes, earning the fourth podium sweep in series history for the United States. Zaferes has been in all four.

Vincent Luis of France won the men’s race in a blanket finish from Henri Schoeman of South Africa and Bence Bicsak of Hungary. They were separated by five seconds.

Zaferes was fourth out of the 1,500-meter swim, and was in a pack of seven which quickly gained a 30-second lead on the cycle leg.

Zaferes and Rappaport broke from the start of the run, followed by Spivey and Yuko Takahashi.

New Zealand-born forward and winger Tyler Boyd has been approved by FIFA to switch affiliation to the United States.

The 24-year-old Boyd has five goals and four assists in 13 games during the second half of this season for Ankaragucu in Turkey’s top division. He was on loan from Portugal’s Vitoria Guimaraes.

He played for New Zealand at the 2013 Under-20 World Cup. Boyd made his debut New Zealand’s senior national team at Japan in 2014 and has played six international matches, all exhibitions.

The U.S. Soccer Federation announced Saturday that soccer’s international governing body approved Boyd’s application.

DragonSpeed plans to focus more energy on building an IndyCar program while scaling back its sports car efforts.

DragonSpeed is trying to qualify Ben Hanley for the Indianapolis 500 but it has been one of the slowest cars all week. The team made its IndyCar debut in this year’s season opener and plans to race through July. The team says it will use the second half of the IndyCar calendar to focus on the commercial growth of the program.

DragonSpeed team head Elton Julian says the 24 Hours of Le Mans next month will be one of its final sports car events. He adds the team will still enter its sports car at Spa, Brazil, and Le Mans, and possibly Daytona and Sebring.
