Pride Weekend festivities June 7-9

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. » The Dutchess County Pride Center plans its first Poughkeepsie Pride Weekend in support of the LGBTQ community June 7-9. Festivities will culminate Sunday, June 9, with a parade and festival.

A Pride Fiesta featuring poetry readings and live music is planned at 6 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the Earth, Wind and Fuego Cafe in the Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory. Rainbow sidewalk painting is planned at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in downtown Poughkeepsie.

Sunday’s parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Market Street and continue down Main Street to Waryas Park, where a family-friendly festival will be held until 5 p.m., with food vendors, live music and information from community organizations.
