In the courts

The following items are based on information provided by officials in law enforcement and the criminal justice system. Greene County Court

• Contraband: Khalil Maule, age not provided, of Coxsackie, was convicted on Tuesday, Jan. 28, of the felony of attempted promoting prison contraband for possessing a cuttingtype weapon while serving time for another felony conviction at the Coxsackie Correctional Facility. Maule was arrested by state police at Coxsackie on July 9, 2019, and was charged with possession of dangerous contraband in prison, a felony. Maule will be sentenced at a later date.

• Drugs: Samir Alygad, age not provided, of Catskill, was convicted on Tuesday, Jan. 21, of felony sale of a controlled substance. Alygad was arrested by Catskill police on Sept. 21, 2019, and was charged with five felony counts of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Alygad will be sentenced at a later date.

• Criminal purchase/disposal of weapon: Clifford J. Hart, age not provided, of

Hannacroix, was sentenced to three years probation for the felony of attempted criminal purchase or disposal of a weapon. Hart was arrested by state police at Catskill on Aug. 6, 2019, and was charged with criminal purchase/disposal of a weapon, a felony, and falsifying business records by making a false entry, a misdemeanor.

• DWI: Steven Weidanz, age and address unavailable, was sentenced on Tuesday, Jan. 14, to five years probation for felony drunken driving. Weidanz was convicted in Greene

County Court on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019, of the felony of drunken driving, and was placed in the drug court program.

• Drugs: Dashan L. Lyons, age unavailable, of Catskill, was sentenced on Tuesday, Jan. 14, to two years in state prison and 18 months post-release supervision for the felony of attempted possession of a controlled substance. Lyons was arrested by state police at Catskill on March 4, 2019, and was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
