Rep. Delgado has huge lead in campaign cash on hand
Maloney holds 3-1 advantage
U.S. Rep Antonio Delgado has more than $2 million in his campaign war chest compared to less than $5,300 in the account of his only declared opponent, according to the latest financial disclosure forms filed with the Federal Elections Commission.
The campaign of Delgado, D-Rhinebeck, raised $2,836,222.71 from January to December 2019 and spent $833,793.47, a difference of $2,002,429.24, though the filing said the campaign’s “cash on hand” amount at the end of December was $2,081,029.
Fashion designer Ola Hawatmeh, who is seeking the Republican nomination in New York’s 19th Congressional District, reported that her campaign raised $5,497.77 from July through December 2019 and spent $223.31,
leaving an account balance of $5,272.46.
Delgado is seeking his second term representing the 19th District in the Nov.
3 election. If primaries are necessary for either party’s nomination, they will be held June 23.
The 19th Congressional District comprises all of Ulster, Greene, Columbia, Sullivan, Delaware, Schoharie and Otsego counties; most of Dutchess County;
parts of Rensselaer and Montgomery counties; and a small section of Broome County.
In New York’s 18th Congressional District, fourterm incumbent Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney, D-Cold Spring, had $754,046 in his campaign account at
the end of 2019, according to his filing. The filing said the campaign raised $1,375,698.01 between January and December and spent $643,884.94.
Maloney’s Republican opponent, Chele Farley, of Tuxedo, reported a campaign war chest of $242,117.96 at
the end of the year. Farley’s filing said her campaign raised $570,267 between January and December and spent $328,149.48.
Farley was the 2018 Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate seat of Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y. Gillibrand won that race by a
margin of more than 2 to 1.
The 18th Congressional District comprises a small part of southern Dutchess County, all of Putnam County, southeastern Orange County, northwestern Rockland County and northeastern Westchester County.
