Orange County confirms three more cases of COVID-19
Three more Orange County residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the county to six, the Orange County Health Department said in a press release Saturday.
County officials declined to release any further identifying information about the latest cases, citing public health laws.
The county Department of Public Health and its epidemiologists continue to work with local hospitals, doctors offices, emergency services and other medical health care providers to identify and work with those who may have come in direct contact with the patients and offer recommendations as needed.
Orange County Health Commissioner Dr. Irina Gelman advised that the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the flu, and other droplet-spread viruses, continues to be to practice basic, common-sense personal hygiene, including washing your hands frequently and thoroughly, refraining from touching your face and avoiding unnecessary contact with others.
