On the move
Lauren Rooney has joined the staff as a business advisor at The MidHudson Small Business Development Center at SUNY Ulster
Born and raised in the Mid-Hudson Valley and residing in New Paltz, Rooney has owned and successfully managed her healthcare and hospitality businesses since 2004.
Rooney has been actively involved with Rescue Squad operations since the late 1990s, serving as first lieutenant, captain and member of the board of directors. Her administrative and managerial skills have been put to the test in staff and operational management, budget preparation, financial analysis, fiscal and strategic planning, marketing and community relations.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics from The University at Albany, is a graduate of the Swedish Institute with a license in massage therapy and is a certified EMT.
Rooney is President Elect of the local chapter of Rotary International and a current member of the New Paltz School District Health Advisory Committee.
