JOSEPH BEESMER

WEST HURLEY- Joseph (Joe) Beesmer of West Hurley, N.Y. passed away on Feb. 13, 2021 at the age of 63. He was the son of the late Roger and Lois Beesmer also from West Hurley, N.Y. Born on Dec. 24, 1957, Joe was a Christmas Eve baby and celebrations of his birth were extra special because of this. He spent many years playing Santa at Christmas parties and making his family members smile and laugh. He graduated from Onteora Central School District in 1975. A very accomplished musician, Joe entertained and delighted family, friends and strangers from all over with his skillful, self-taught guitar playing, and soulful singing. His band, The Uncle Funk Band included many local Woodstock musicians and was well renowned in the music scene as a great band for dancing. He married Tina Rotella on Oct. 17, 2009. The couple shared many memorable years together and always enjoyed the local music scene at the many venues where Joe played. Joe is survived by his wife, Tina Rotella Beesmer along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who will miss him dearly. Joe was special to everyone who knew him with an infectious laugh that made you laugh along with him, he will be forever missed.
