Red Hook girls defeat Millbrook in overtime
RED HOOK, N.Y. » Red Hook pulled out a 59-58 overtime victory to close out its girls basketball season Saturday.
Morgan Tompkins connected for 25 points, including four 3-point field goals, to lead the Raiders, who finished 5-1 in the abbreviated season. McKenzie Simmons and Liv Christensen scored 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Red Hook.
Emily Grasseler tossed in a game-high 26 points and Ella Wilson scored 11 to pace Millbrook.
Marlboro 59, Wallkill 50
At Wallkill, the Panthers fell to Marlboro in their season finale Saturday.
Hannah Polumbo (17 points), Liz Lofaro (16) and Bri Bernicker (14) paced the Dukes.
Emma Schwarzbeck scored 18 points, Emma Spindler had 10 and Zoe Mesuch added nine for (4-1) Wallkill.
Wallkill 70, Highland 40
At Highland, Wallkill improved to 4-0 Friday night with a triumph over Highland.
Zoe Mesuch hit for 21 points, Emma Spindler added 16 and Emma Schwarzbeck scored 14 to lead the Panthers. The Panthers jumped out to a 22-9 lead in the first quarter and were ahead 43-16 by halftime.
Katie Dauenheimer scored eight of her 13 points in the third quarter and Addie McDowell had 10 points, including a trio of 3-point field goals, to lead Highland.
Millbrook 62, Red Hook 46
At Millbrook, a dominant performance inside from Nat Fox (17 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three steals) and Emily Grassler (18 points, 16 rebounds) powered the Blazers over Red Hook Friday. Maddy Harkenrider had eight points and seven assists and Kayleigh Tompkins tallied eight points for Millbrook.
McKenzie Simmons had 20 points and Kayla Dykas scored 14 to carry the (4-1) Raiders.
