HERMAN W. TEMPELMAN
CLINTON CORNERS-Herman W. Tempelman, 90, of Clinton Corners, NY, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Born on June 4, 1930, in Greenport, N.Y., he was the son of the late William and Hermina (Schimansky) Tempelmann who emigrated from Hagen, Germany. Herman married Joan M. Connolly in January of 1962 in Belmore, N.Y. After 48 years of marriage and lovingly raising a family, Joan predeceased him on Oct. 4, 2010. Herman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an engineering technician for IBM for over 35 years, retiring from the Kingston, N.Y. facility. He was a life member of Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of SSIP Taconic and the Milan Seniors. He enjoyed listening to folk music, especially Red Molly, and spending his time shing on the Ashokan Reservoir and hunting. He is remembered and greatly missed by his daughter, Linda (Brian Telfer) Tempelman of Lincoln, Mass.; his son, William (Cathy) Tempelman of Ellington, Conn.; his grandchildren, Christopher Tempelman (ance, Katie Gloe) of Wilmington, N.C., Benjamin Tempelman (ance, Haley Shadle) of New Britain, Conn., Claire Telfer of Harrisonburg, Va., Kevin Telfer of Cleveland, Ohio; his close friend, Joan Saylor of Red Hook, N.Y., in addition to extended family and friends. Funeral services will be private. A celebration of Herman’s life for friends and family is planned for this summer.
