KINGSTON-John A. DeJoy died Friday, March 19, 2021 at the Thompson House in Rhinebeck, N.Y. Born in Hudson, N.Y., he was the son of the late William DeJoy and the late Mary D’Angelo DeJoy. On July 7, 1963 he married the former Marion Fondino, his wife of more than 57 years..After 54 years employment at IBM, he retired in 2009. John enjoyed hiking and traveling, having visited Japan over 100 times for work. Photograph­y and art were two of his favorite pastimes. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John of Clifton Park, N.Y. and David and his wife Angela of Greenwich, Conn.; his grandchild­ren, Joshua, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Gerard and Isabella; his sister Matilda Wagner of Hudson; his sisters-in-law Laura Wallach, Stella Costello and Jean Fondino; and his brother-in-law Raymond Fondino. He was pre-deceased by his sisters Margaret Chappell and Louise Omelenchuc­k. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 21 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. A funeral procession will form 8:45 a.m., Monday, March 22 at Buono Funeral Service, Inc. in Saugerties then proceed to St. Joseph’s Church in Kingston where a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow immediatel­y in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery in Barclay Heights.
