Wallkill defeats Roosevelt in four sets

HYDE PARK, N.Y. » Wallkill defeated Roosevelt High in four sets Tuesday in MidHudson Athletic League volleyball action.

The Panthers won 25-20, 25-22, 22-25, 25-18 behind the play of Rylee Thomas (13 kills, four digs), Lauren Hall (11 kills, four digs), Ava Wallingford (nine kills, nine digs, two aces) and Sera Goering (16 digs, three assists, two aces).

Gianna Felipe (11 kills, 12 digs, four blocks, 11 service points with six aces), Samya Epps (24 assists, eight points with one ace, two digs, one kill) and Aaliyah Williams (eight kills, four blocks, two aces, two digs) paced Roosevelt.

Mount Academy 3, Webutuck 0

At Esopus, Mount Academy rolled to a 25-3, 25-3, 25-5 sweep.

Rhona Robertshaw served for 27 points, including 10 aces and Jacqui Maendel had 14 assists, two kills and two digs to lead the Eagles.

Also with key contributions were Maura Maendel (seven kills, two aces), Ruby Moody (four kills, three aces, one block) Monika Tietz (three kills, three aces, three digs), Kaitlyn Arnold (four assists, three aces, two kills) and Alyssa Meier (three kills).

Marlboro 3, Red Hook 2

At Marlboro, the Dukes won their first home match of the season on senior night, defeating Red Hook in five sets. No set scores were provided.

Grace Clark (seven kills, five digs, three aces) Isabella Gulcaglayan (eight assists, six aces, four digs), Kalista Berkinstock (13 digs, three aces) and Alex Maher (six aces, four kills, two blocks) paced Marlboro.

Millbrook 3, Pine Plains 1

At Pine Plains, Millbrook downed Pine Plains 25-14, 25-10, 22-25, 25-12 behind the play of Natalie Fox (nine kills, four aces), Julia Stoliker (nine kills, four aces) and Callie McGuire (nine kills, three digs).

Lourdes Belanger (eight digs, two aces), Haley McCord (four aces, four digs) and Emily Lindquist (three blocks) led the way for the Bombers.
