GLASCO-Frances (Alecca) Riccio, 88, of Glasco passed Thursday April 8, 2021 at her home. Born Oct. 23, 1932 in Kingston, she was the third child and rst daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Perry) Alecca. Frances worked at the Lindy Allen dress factory, Colonial Knitwear, J.B. Cigar Factory, Perpetua Manufactur­ing, Food Service for IBM Kingston and The White Bar (Rudy’s Restaurant). She was a former member of the Messina Lodge of Sons of Italy, a member of the Glasco Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for sixty three years , the Ladies Society of Santa Maria for over sixty ve years and Ulster County Poll Inspector for many years. Frances enjoyed playing bingo, going to casino’s, shopping, gardening and canning of home grown vegetables and making homemade tomato sauce. She was a former bowler in the Thursday Nights Women’s League in Saugerties and the Wednesday Night Women’s League in Kingston. She annually attended the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey. She was a parishione­r of Saint Joseph’s Glasco. Frances is survived by her children, Denise Kelder and her husband John of Saugerties and Joseph Riccio (Lisa Pugliese) of Glasco ; her children Linzey Pugliese and Victoria Pugliese; her grandchild­ren; Dennis Kelder and his wife Mandy of Glasco and her children Brittany Hanzl and her husband John and Darren Chlud, Angelina Kelder and her children Haley and Bradley Williams and Kymani Jones; her sister Joan Whitaker and her husband Louis of Texas; her sister-in-law, Agnes Alecca of Saugerties; Roselyn Riccio, sister-in-law, Saugerties. Uncle Paul Perry, Accord; Aunt Julia Tiano, Kingston; Aunt June Pawlous, Arizona. She was predecease­d on July 8,2020 by husband Joseph after 62 years of marriage. Her grandson Joseph F Riccio, Jr November 18, 2008. Her brothers, John, Anthony Jr, and Michael Aleeca and sisters, Rose Polcastro, and Carmella (Moe) Kelderhous­e. Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the guidance of the Joseph V. Leahy Funeral Home, Inc., 27 Smith Avenue, Kingston. www. jvleahyfh.com The Riccio family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. The funeral procession will form Thursday 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Church, Glasco. Face masks and social distancing are required and may limit the capacity in both the funeral home and the church. Burial will follow in Saint Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Barclay Heights. The family would like to say “Thank You” to Dr. Elizabeth Costly for her many years of loving care and heartfelt support to Frances’s health and well being.
