BETH KLETSKE OLSSON

-

KINGSTON- Beth Kletske Olsson, who was born on Sept. 15, 1941 in Kingston, passed away at Golden Hill Nursing Home on Thursday, April 8, 2021, after several months of illness. She is survived by the love of her life, her daughter Jackie; son-in-law, David; and grandson, Peter. She is predeceased by her beloved granddaughter, Alexandra in 2020; her parents, Herb and Helen Kletske; and grandparents, Samuel and Sarah Goldberg. Despite her paralysis at age 10, Beth graduated high school, attending secretarial school in Albany. She was able to type faster on one hand than most people did with two. She was volunteer of the year multiple times at the local Red Cross and Heart Association ofces. However, her entire life was about family. She spent many happy years going dancing at Grossingers and other Catskill hotels with her parents and grandparents. Her biggest joy was Jackie, David, Allycat and Peter. While the children were little, Beth, Nanny and Gpa Herby saw them daily while living in a rental unit downstairs. The immense happiness during those years was such a gift to all of us. We want to express our gratitude for her other “family” at Golden Hill. The staff there truly made her days happy and she felt so loved. Words truly aren’t enough to thank you for all the years of support you gave us all. Thank you to the staff at Health Alliance Kingston Hospital who gave their all these last two months. She felt safe, and the family support was outstanding. Graveside services will be held at Montrepose Cemetery, on Wednesday at 2 p.m. A procession will start at the entrance at 1:55 p.m. In Beth’s memory, contributions can be made to The Alexandra Lawson Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition for college degrees in mental health and addiction studies. Checks can be mailed to: Lawson, P.O. Box 834, Port Ewen, N.Y., 12466. In the interest of public safety and in keeping with COVID-19 guidelines, social distancing and masks are required while attending the funeral service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 261 Broadway, Kingston, N.Y.
