Marlboro, Ellenville cruise to victories

Ryan McDonald threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns Friday night as Marlboro High returned to its winning ways in Section 9 football with a 58-0 victory over Highland.

It was a bounce-back win for the Dukes, who were dismantled by Port Jervis 71-0 last week.

McDonald went to eight different receivers as he completed 20 of 24 passes. One attempt was intercepte­d. He tossed TD passes of 52 yards to Jaden Rios, 28 to Chinedu Okasi and 5 each to Chris Thorne and Alex Turnbull. Okasi also scored on a 50yard punt return.

Elijah Williams had a 14-yard TD run, Jake Ward scored on a 38yard ramble and Drew Heimank tallied on a 25-yard burst. Marllboro, now 3-1, also scored a safety.

Ward and Ryan Durling led the Duke defense with seven tackles apiece.

Ellenville 36, Eldred 14

At Eldred, David McCombs ran for two touchdowns and threw for another to lead Ellenville to a

win in 8-man football. He scored on runs of 15 and 10 yards and had a 15-yard TD pass to Josh McNeil.

Cassimiro Pomales had a 40-yard TD run and Jacob Roller scored on a 15yard carry for the (2-3) Blue Devils.

Julius Maldonado had an intercepti­on.

Burke 41, Rondout 6

At Kyserike, John S. Burke Catholic scored 34 unanswered points to defeat Rondout Valley.

Jimmy Brush’s 12-yard TD pass to Carter Cafiero got the Ganders within 7-6 in the second quarter, but the Eagles took charge after that.

Jeremy Ragunath scored on an 84-yard kickoff return and Brendan Durkin returned an intercepti­on 10 yards for a touchdown for Burke in the third quarter.

Jackson Hoovler had two TD passes for Burke.
