Dutchess sees increase in active COVID cases
No additional deaths are reported in the county, however
Dutchess County on Saturday reported 1,319 active cases of COVID-19, an uptick of 22 cases from the 1,297 active cases reported on Friday.
Dutchess County reported no additional deaths. It has lost 428 residents to COVID since last spring.
Dutchess has had 27,142 confirmed cases of COVID since March 2020 and on Saturday reported a sevenday positive test rate of 4.07%.
Ulster County does not report statistics on Saturdays. On Friday, the county reported 1,730 active cases of COVID-19, up just four from the 1,726 reported Thursday. Ulster County has had 13,773 confirmed cases of COVID since the outbreak began in March 2020, as well as 11,797 recoveries and 246 deaths.

Newly reported cases of COVID-19 in area school districts are as follows, according to New York state.
• Kingston: Two on-site Ernest C. Myer students.
• Saugerties: Two on-site junior high school students and one off-site high school student.
• Highland: One off-site elementary staff member and one off-site high school teacher.
• Onteora: Two on-site high school students and one off-site middle school student.
• Rondout Valley: Three off-site high school students.
• Marlboro: One off-site elementary student and one off-site middle school student.

Appointments to be vaccinated at state-run sites, including the one at the Ulster County Fairgrounds New Paltz, can be made online at covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov.
Appointments to be vaccinated at the Ulster County-run site at Hudson Valley Mall in the town of Ulster can be made at vaccinateulster.com, and Dutchess County’s vaccination sign-up site is bit.ly/ dut-vax.
