Allison Curtis of Saugerties, a student at Fordham University in the Bronx, was initiated into the university’s chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a chapter. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.

Grace Holod of New Paltz, a student at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense research project titled “Effects of Montessori Education in China” with Hangzhou China.
At the institute, all undergraduates are required to complete a researchdriven,
professional-level project that applies science and technology to addresses an important societal need or issue.
Holod is a member of the Class of 2022 and is majoring in mechanical engineering.

Timothy Petty of Highland, a student at SUNY Potsdam, was named to the college’s Honors Program.
The Honors Program offers students the benefits of small classes and excellent professors, with special opportunities to pursue advanced independent projects. Incoming firstyear students with high school grade point averages of 95 or higher are invited to join, as are secondsemester students or transfer students with at least 13 credit hours completed and grade point averages of 3.5 or higher.
Petty is majoring in international studies.

Two area residents attending SUNY Delhi — Katelynn Rose of Hyde Park and Darienne Guerrieri of Catskill — were named to the North Atlantic Conference Fall All-Academic Team.
The conference academic list recognizes all student-athletes who participated in fall practice/ competition and possess a cumulative grade point average above 3.5.
Rose is a sophomore majoring in culinary arts. She is a member of the SUNY Delhi softball team. Guerrieri is a sophomore majoring in accounting. She is a member of the SUNY Delhi women’s tennis team.
