Dutchess sees its active cases fall again
Dutchess County reported that its number of active COVID-19cases dropped for a sixth straight day, declining by 39to 1,042.
Dutchess County on Saturday continued a downward trend of COVID-19 cases, reporting 1,042 active cases, down 39 from a day earlier.
Cases in Dutchess County reported Saturday were substantially lower than the March 26 high of 1,436 cases. Dutchess on Saturday reported 27,813 confirmed cases of the virus since last March and a seven-day positivity rate of 4.28%. It was the sixth straight day the county reported a decline in active cases.
There were no additional COVID-related deaths reported in Dutchess County on Saturday, leaving the total at 433. Fifty-eight residents are reportedly hospitalized with the virus as of Saturday, down from 64 a day earlier.
Ulster County reported a decline in active cases on Friday to 1,329 cases of the virus, down from 1,407 reported on Thursday. Ulster does not report COVID statistics on Saturdays.

• Kingston: Two onsite Chambers Elementary School students; one onsite J. Watson Bailey Middle School student; and one onsite Kingston High School student.
• Highland: One on-site elementary school student.
• Ellenville: One off-site elementary student and one on-site middle school student.
• Saugerties: One on-site high school student.
