Global music series set for farm
The SoundWaves Concert Series will be held on Thursdays at the White Feather Farm along state Route 212.
SAUGERTIES, N.Y. The SoundWaves Concert Series featuring a diverse array of world-class artists and musical genres will be held Thursdays beginning Aug. 5 at White Feather Farm on state Route 212.
Featured artists will include Sxip Shirey on Aug. 5, Mandingo Ambassadors on Aug. 19, Martha Redbone on Aug. 26, Stephane Wrembel on Sept. 2, and Miramar on Sept. 23, according to a press release. There will also be a harvest festival held at the site on a date still to be announced.
The line-up will range from Gypsy jazz and Afropop to Latin Boleros and Native and African-American folk, soul, and gospel music, the release said. The music series is a celebration of artistic exploration with the goal to connect and create community across borders in the Hudson Valley, the release said.
The SoundWaves Concert Series will take place on Thursdays in August and September in the 280-yearold Broken Wing Barn, the release said. The Dutch barn with its original post and beam interior is known for its exceptional acoustics, the release said.
Ticketholders are welcome to arrive at 7 p.m. for drinks, stay for the shows beginning at 8 p.m., and mingle afterward, according to the announcement.
Attendees must show a COVID-19 vaccination card or negative COVID test taken within 72 hours to attend the event without a mask. Otherwise, a mask will be required.
Wine and beer are available for purchase during the event.
