KINGSTON, N.Y. » A casting call is out for the film “Lost On A Mountain in Maine,” which will be shooting in Ulster County and the Kingston area throughout July.

The Hudson Valley Film Commission said in a press release that the film is seeking background and dayplayers to play hospital visitors, doctors, nurses, journalists, families, children and other characters set in 1939.

The commission said the production is also seeking rugged men who can hike and be outdoors for long hours for a search party.

Two specific roles include a 9-11-year-old white boy between 4’7 and 4’11 to play Tommy, and a white girl between 6-8 years old between 4’ and 4’6 to play Patsy.

The Commission said both should plan to work numerous days between July 11 and July 30 and anyone under age 18 is required to have a state performer permit and trust.

The film is set in 1939 and is “based on the true account of a boy’s harrowing journey through the vast wilderness of the Katahdin Mountains,” the film commission said in an announcement. The call noted that men must be willing to have their hair cut and trimmed by stylists into a period-correct style by the hair and makeup team, and women need at least shoulder-length hair.

The release added that no one will be cast with visible tattoos or microbladed eyebrows.

Compensation will be $187/8 for SAG-Aftra actors and $150-10 for nonunion actors.

Casting will be handled by Amy Hutchings and Heidi Eklund and is done using Agency Pro Database at https://tinyurl. com/hvcasting.
