Bruck recognized as Emerging Young Leader
KINGSTON, N.Y. Ulster County archivist and city of Kingston Historian Taylor Bruck was named the 2022 Emerging Young Leader by the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Eight businesses, business leaders and organizations will be honored during the Chamber’s Business Recognition Awards Celebration dinner at Wiltwyck Golf Club, 404 Steward Lane, Kingston, on Thursday, Oct. 27, starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Ulster County Business of the Year for 2022 is J. Mullen & Son’s Inc. of Saugerties. Other honorees include Peekamoose Restaurant and Tap Room as Small Business of the Year; Charles Blaichman of CB Developers and Hotel Kinsley as Business Person of the Year; Rail Explorers as Tourism Business of the Year; and Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster Counties for the Commitment to the Community Award. The Heritage Award goes to Scanlon’s Dry Cleaners and The Len Cane Heart of Ulster County Award will be bestowed on Tom Struzzieri of HITS.
“The awards recognize Ulster County businesses that are leaders in their sectors, have achieved outstanding results, or have shown dedication and commitment to furthering business and the quality of life in Ulster County,” a press release said.
Bruck, 32, grew up in Kingston and studied under the late Kingston Historian Ed Ford for years and helped spearhead the recreation of two missing lunettes at City Hall. He also partnered with the History Alliance of Kingston to create a Black history database and planning Kingston’s 150th-anniversary celebration, the Chamber said.
