Church to host Live Nativity on Dec. 10
LAKE KATRINE, N.Y. >> Grace Community Evangelical Free Church will hold its sixth annual Live Nativity from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.
The church is at 160 Seremma Court in Lake Katrine.
The free event will be a drive-thru, no-contact production that people can watch from their cars.
Guests will hear a radio narration in English or Spanish as they drive through almost a dozen sets telling the story of the birth of Christ. The written narration will also be distributed to each car.
The event will feature a stable with live animals and costumed characters, including angels, shepherds and wise men; a Victorian choir with members dressed in period garb and a Dickens-style backdrop; a children’s choir of angels singing classic Christmas songs; refreshments, free Bibles for all ages and Christmas comic books.
“Our Living Nativity is a great chance for families to leave behind the commercialism for one night and find some peace and joy in that first Christmas,” said Donna Albright, one of the event organizers, in a statement. “There will be lots of animals for the kids—a donkey and sheep and even a llama,” Albright said.
The snow or rain date is Sunday, Dec. 11, and updates will be posted on the church’s website at grace4ulster.org.
