LANESVILLE-Joyce Benjamin Kosicinski, 79, of Lanesville died November 24, 2022 at the Kingston Hospital. She was born in Lanesville on April 5, 1943, daughter of the late Elmer and Charlotte Becker Benjamin Sr. She was a native and life long area resident. Joyce had been employed at the N.Y.S. DOT, as well as Hunter Mountain Ski Bowl, and the N.Y.C. DOT. Her motto was, “If a man can do it, she could do it better!” Joyce had a great appreciati­on of nature, and had hunted, fished, and tended her beautiful flower gardens. She had a strong sense of community, and tirelessly volunteere­d her time at the activities and worship of the Lanesville Church, and at the Food Pantry. You could count on her to help out anyone. She was a queen of yard sales, and had an infectious sense of humor to get anyone to laugh. She was extremely talented at fabricatin­g new and unusual craft projects. She will be missed by many. Surviving are her daughter Judy Hitchcock, three sons: James, Jeff, and John Vierstra. 15 grandchild­ren: Phillip, Anthony, Austin, Alex, Alyssa, Joseph, Leigha, Matthew, Chelsea, Aubrey, Brianna, Kira, Cassandra, Isabella, and Annalise. Great grandchild­ren: Joseph Jr., Grayson, Brantley, Maci, Kayden, and Makenna. 14 Siblings: Donald, Elmer Jr., Harold, Edwin, Roger, Carl, Gary, Wayne Benjamin, Rose Busch, Charlotte Campbell, Mary Masonette, Linda Vierstra, Beverly Collins, and Donna Berryann. She was predecease­d by her siblings: Evelyn Berry and Charlie Benjamin. A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of Joyce will be held at the Lanesville Methodist Church on December 4th at 1pm.
