Teresa Crawford Jones, a resident of Highland passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022, at her home, with her loving husband by her side. Born Teresa Ann Crawford, on November 14, 1949, in Bend Oregon. The daughter of Ralph and Mary Crawford both deceased. She and her husband Geoffrey Jones Sr. were married at the Ascension Church, West Park NY in 1988. Beloved stepmother of Geoffrey Jones Jr, Daughter in law, Johanna Jones, and granddaugh­ter Phaedra Rose Jones of Rochester, Minnesota, Sister-in-law Marilyn Jones of Poughkeeps­ie, Sisters Patricia Mackey of Tucson, AZ and Barbara Payseno of Salem and many nieces, nephews, and their families. Teresa graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in Journalism, 1970 Moved to NYC in 1973 to begin her career as a Freelance Writer / Editor in Educationa­l Publishing, spanning 49 years and author of several of her own books. She attended Ascension Holy Trinity Church until she got her calling. She was ordained an Episcopal Deacon on May 15th, 1999, at the Cathedral of St John the Divine in Manhattan. Her service to her church, the parish family and the community was her calling and she served selflessly however she could. Helping people in any kind of need was her personal mission and filled her soul. Volunteeri­ng at our church’s food pantry and mission center gave her great comfort knowing people were being taken care of. Teri was honored by the Ascension Holy Trinity Church’s Mission Center by having the donated clothing area named “Teri’s Place”. For years, she mentored a course called Education for Ministry for dozens of students and hosted training for future mentors from all over the US. Music was always a big part of her life. She sang and played the piano and married a drummer. This brought her into an extended circle of musicians, singers, and their families. Some of her most cherished times were the hundreds of music jams and parties we hosted or attended. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff of Vassar Brothers Medical Center and The Lutheran Care Center who cared for her. A special thank you to the incredible nurses and aides of Hudson Valley Hospice who helped us all ease into her eternal rest. Her funeral service will take place December 29th, 2022, 2 PM at Ascension Church, West Park NY.
