Joan L. Murray 91, died at her home in Kingston Saturday December 31, 2022 in the loving care of her family and Hospice. Born in Deposit, NY July 22, 1931, daughter of the late Richard LaVerne Gill and Helen (Thomas) Gill. She married the love of her life the late Robert B. Murray in Kingston in 1948. Joan was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a great-great-grandmother. Joan was an avid reader, always having a new best seller at her side. Her love of gardening and knitting was shared with many of us and through the years she blessed the entire family with her beautiful Irish Knit sweaters. She enjoyed many wonderful times with her family and friends at Williams Lake. Her special place was Moody Beach, Maine where she loved to walk the beach, eat lobster and listen to the surf. Joan was a devoted member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and could always be found sitting in one of the front rows of the church. Joan spent years in the local antiquing business and later in life shared her talents as Kitchen Manager for Angel Food East. She loved to entertain, over the years hosting cocktail parties, holiday gatherings, family dinners and her annual New Year’s Day parties; even at the end offering her Hospice nurse tea and cookies. Joan was always up for a game of cards with family and friends. But most of all was her love of family and instilling in us the importance of being together. To all she will be remembered as Grammy. Surviving are her children; Karol Fox (Lloyd), Jennifer Allred (Terry), Craig Murray (Gina Carena), Kyle Murray (Susan); her 8 grandchildren Kristin Fishback (Shawn), Rebecca Cashdollar (Darryl Curtiss), Danielle Cashdollar, Garth Allred (Heidi), Sarah Corrigan (Dave), Brad Allred (Stephanie), Kate Daley-Murray (Bridget), Lola Murray (Andy Manns); 16 great-grandchildren Courtney Morris (Dustin), Tyler Fishback, Grayson Haber (Wesley), Dalton Curtiss, Chase Curtiss, McKaela Curtiss, David Rosen, Christopher Rosen, Jacob Rosen, Beth Allred, Liam Allred, Lucy Corrigan, Riley Corrigan, Zaida Ciccosanti, Joshua Allred, Rachel Allred; and great-great-grandchildren Zoe and Zion Haber.
