• The Fats in the Cats Bicycle Club will hold its annual Bike Swap and Sell on Saturday, May 20, at

• The Women Photograph­ers Collective of the Hudson Valley’s exhibit “Beneath the Surface” will take place at the Olive Free Library, 4033 state Route 28A, West Shokan from through July July 8. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday,

May 20, from 3 to 5 p.m. Participat­ing artists include Gail Albert, Ana Bergen, Shari Diamond, Jill Enfield, Lori Grinker, Maria Fernanda Hubeaut, Kay Kenny, Dorethea Marcus, Meryl Meisler, Charley Mitcherson, Susan Phillips, Carla Shapiro and Ruth Wetzel. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

• John Burroughs Slabsides, 500Burroug­hs Drive, West Park, will have an open house on Saturday, May 20, from 11a.m. to 4p.m. The open house will include a program at noon with Susan Fox Rogers delivering a talk titled “Burroughs and Birds.” An author and outdoorswo­man, Rogers will talk about her journey to becoming a birder — with the writings of John Burroughs at her side. She will share her adventures searching for birds, following in Burroughs’ footsteps as she hiked up Slide Mountain in search of the Bicknell’s Thrush.

• The Red Hook Rotary will collect personal care items Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. at the Red Hook United Methodist Church at 4Church St., Red Hook. The club is seeking donations of new items including toothbrush­es and toothpaste, shampoo and feminine hygiene products. The collection drive is part of Rotary’s Internatio­nal Day of Service. Donated items will be distribute­d at local food banks and in Red Hook Central School District schools. • The Arms Fair will return to Mechanicvi­lle at the gymnasium in the old high school on 10 N. Main St. on Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 3p.m. Daily admission is $10. On Seniors $9, children under 14 free with an adult.

• The Reformed Church of the Comforter at 26 Wynkoop Place, Kingston is hosting a spaghetti and meatball dinner Saturday, May 20, from 5-7 p.m. The menu, served either family style or take out, will include freshly prepared spaghetti, homemade meatballs and sauce, garlic bread, tossed salad with Italian dressing, homemade. Beverage options include homemade lemonade, tea, coffee, lemonade, iced tea. Tickets are $15 adults, $14 for seniors 65 and older, $12 for children under 10 and free for children five and under.

• Hudson Valley Horse Play, 98 Sherman Road, Kerhonkson, invited people of all ages to read to a pony on Saturday, May 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. Pull up a hay bale and greet your bigeared reading buddy.
