• The Women Photograph­ers Collective of the Hudson Valley’s exhibit “Beneath the Surface” will take place at the Olive Free Library, 4033state Route 28A, West Shokan, through July 8. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, from 3 to 5p.m. Participat­ing artists include Gail Albert, Ana Bergen, Shari Diamond, Jill Enfield, Lori Grinker, Maria Fernanda Hubeaut, Kay Kenny, Dorethea Marcus, Meryl Meisler, Charley Mitcherson, Susan Phillips, Carla Shapiro and Ruth Wetzel. • The Arms Fair will return to Mechanicvi­lle at the gymnasium in the old high school on 10 N. Main St. on Sunday, May 21, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Daily admission is $10. It’s $9 for seniors. children under 14 free with an adult.

• The choral group Bloom and Plutarch for Refugees will host an outdoor spring concert benefit to support a recently arrived refugee family from Afghanista­n on Sunday, May 21, from 3 to 5p.m. at 10Horse Art Center, 67 Black Creek

• Family Fun Day, Sunday, June 4, in Ross Park at 208Bowne St., Port Ewen, features a 5K run, car show and many other activities. The event kicks off with the Esopus 5k run starting at 9 a.m. Sign-up for the race starts at 8:30a.m.

Car show participan­ts are asked to arrive at 9:30 a.m. Other activities including games for kids and local vendors kick at 10 a.m. and run through 3 p.m. Food including fried dough, hamburgers and hotdogs will be available for purchase. The car show and 5K have an entry fee of $10in advance and $15 day of the race.

• The Woodstock-New

Paltz Art & Crafts Fair returns to the Ulster County Fairground­s at 249 Libertyvil­le Road, New Paltz, from May 27 to 29. The fair is to feature more than 200 artists alongside live music, craft demonstrat­ions, food trucks and a children’s tent. The event will also feature wine, area distilleri­es and speciality and prepared on site foods. Fair hours are 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on May 27-28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 29. The event is rain or shine.

• The Gardiner Library, 133 Farmer’s Turnpike, Gardiner, and Wild Ones Mid-Hudson Valley will host a native plant sale to complement the library’s new pollinator garden on Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. to noon. These small plants, called landscape plugs, are much less expensive than container plants and an excellent way to keep costs down while trying out some new plants. Proceeds will benefit the library. • The Town of Hurley’s Memorial Day Parade will be held on Monday, May 29, with the staging ground at the THkit print shop at 185 Zandhoek Road opening at 9 a.m. with the parade leaving at 10 a.m. The route will head north on Zandhoek Road before making a right at the end of the Hurley Cemetery. The parade will then cross Hurley Avenue, go the length of Main Street, cross Hurley Mountain Road, make a left on Wamsley Place and end in front of Town Hall where a ceremony will take place with food available. • The Olive Free Library’s early summer Library Fair is Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The live music lineup includes local singer-songwriter, at 11 a.m., 1969 Woodstock Festival veteran Gilles Malkine, at noon and the Nuggs at 1 p.m. Food is by Kevin Vines BBQ with ice cream and maple popcorn also available. The event also features kids activities, a book sale and a plant sale featuring perennials, shrubs and seedlings. • The Woodstock Diamond Dance and Music Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, June 10 and

11, at 1766 Glasco Turnpike, Woodstock. An outdoor reception will take place June 10 at 5:30 p.m., with a show at 6 p.m. On June 11, the program begins at 2:30 p.m. The featured group will be Linda Diamond & Company, a diverse nodern dance ensemble of profession­als, along with music by Woodstock composer Tom Desisto. Admission on June 10 is $20 and includes the reception. Admission on June 11 is $15. Admission for children 12 and under is $7. • Rhinebeck Reformed Church, 6368 Mill St., Rhinebeck will have a garden and plant sale on Friday and Saturday, June 2 and 3, to raise funds for the preservati­on and maintenanc­e of the church. Container plants, hanging baskets, and pots of annuals, small shrubs, and perennials donated from local businesses or dug from local gardens will be offered. Think of us if your perennials or small shrubs need dividing. Someone can help dig and pot if you are unable. Organizers of the sale are asking for lightly used yard decoration­s, tools, birdhouses, windchimes, lawn, porch furniture, and large-size terra cotta planters. • The Friends of the Saugerties Library Street Fair returns on Saturday, June 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. behind the Saugerties Public Library at 91Washingt­on Ave. The festival wll feature plant, book and baked sales, along with a petting zoo, face painting, a magic show, music, arts and crafts vendors, and more. The Saugerties Police Department and

• The Rhinebeck Farmers Market’s outdoor market has opened for the season, operating Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until Dec. 17. This season’s market, held in the municipal parking lot located at 61 E. Market St., will feature over 30 vendors. New vendors will include include Millbrook Beef & Dairy, of Millbrook. A rotating slate of baked goods includes Mighty Donuts, of Red Hook,

• “Into My Hands: Recent Donations to Ulster County Archives,” featuring a sampling of records donated to the Ulster County Archives between 2011 and 2022, is on display in the secondfloo­r Archives Gallery at the Ulster County Office Building at 244 Fair St., Kingston. The donated records date from 1678 to 2022.
