John S. Brookover III of Downingtow­n

John S. Brookover III, 48, of Downingtow­n, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at his home.

He was the beloved husband of Jeanne M. McQuillin Brookover, with whom he shared 13 years of marriage.

Born in Towson, Md., he was the son of John S. Brookover Jr. and Sharon L. Bassett Brookover.

John graduated from Downingtow­n High School in 1984 and then received his bachelor’s degree in internatio­nal relations from West Chester University. He later attended the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvan­ia and then received his MBA in finance from Widener University.

He worked at PECO, managing their market research efforts focused on customer satisfacti­on. He was successful in improving PECO’s national standing from the teens to the top three, according to J.D. Power, a nationally recognized quality rating service.

John had many friends and colleagues, both personally and profession­ally. They knew him as a trusted friend who was always there to lend a help- ing hand whenever someone needed him.

He loved animals and was the proud owner of three dogs.

He was deeply loved by all and would do anything for his family.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two sisters, Cindy Walsh and Kristin Rossetti; four nieces and nephews, Tommy and Matthew Walsh, and Emily and Louis Rossetti; his mother and father in-law, Norm and Anne McQuillin; and his sister-inlaw, Margie McQuillin.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtow­n, where family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m.

Interment will be private with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Aardvark Animal Hospital, c/o their Animal Adoption Center, 161 Dowlin Forge Road, Lionville, PA 19341. John had always wanted to start an animal rescue center and Aardvark does very similar work.
