WILLISTOWN’S NEWEST PARK
Ken Lehr, vice chairman, and Dick McDonnell, of the Willistown Parks and Rec Board; Darin Groff, Natural Lands Trust Preserve manager; and Duane Milne, state Rep. R167th, assist Bob Lange, chairman of the Willistown Board of Supervisors; Bill Gladden, director of Open Space Preservation for Chester County; and Molly Morrison, president of Natural Lands Trust to cut the ribbon, officially opening the Serpentine Preserve. Willistown representatives Mary McLoughlin, director of Parks & Recreation; Bill Shoemaker, vice chairman Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission member; Bob Kacergis, Open Space Review Board and Parks & Rec Board; George McHugh, supervisor and Parks & Recreation Board; and Dave Burman, township manager, look on. The 22-acre park offers a woodland hiking trail that connects to Natural Lands Trust’s adjacent Willisbrook Preserve, a 126-acre nature preserve that contains a large section of rare serpentine barrens habitat. The entrance and parking for the Serpentine Preserve is at 143 Line Road.
