Naomi E. Ray of West Chester



Naomi E. Ray, 88, of West Chester, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at her home.

Born Nov. 29, 1925, in Buchanan, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Day and the late Harriet Day

Naomi worked for the West Chester Area School District.

She is survived by her children, Patsy A. Ray of Coatesvill­e, Ruby M. Lawson of West Chester, Lawrence E. Ray of Coatesvill­e and Elizabeth Ray of West Chester; 15 grandchild­ren; 35 great-grandchild­ren; and nine great-great-grandchild­ren

She was preceded in death by former husband, Harold L. Ray; and sons, Harold L. Ray Jr. and Donald “City” Ray.

Relat ive s a nd friends are invited to her funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Bethel A.M.E. Church, 334 E. Miner St., West Chester.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday at the church.

Interment will be held in the Chestnut Grove Annex Cemetery, West Chester.
