Margaret M. Pierce of Elizabethtown
Margaret M. Pierce, 97 yrs, of Elizabethtown, formerly of Gap, died on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at the Masonic Village Health Care Center in Elizabethtown, following an illness.
She was born on Jan. 2, 1917 in Kirkwood, New Castle Co., Del. Margaret was the daughter of the late J. Walter and Minnie M. (Maris) Davis. She was the wife of the late Chester Pierce, who died in 2010.
She was a homemaker to her beloved family and worked in the wire preparation department of the former Burroughs Corp. in Downingtown. Margaret was a graduate of the Oxford High School, Class of 1935. She attended Limeville UMC. Margaret was a member of the Tamarack Grange #1388, the State Grange, the Eastern PA Piston Poppers, and a life member of the American Motorcycle Association.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, three grandsons, and a granddaughter.
Margaret is survived by her two sons, Glenn Pierce of Gap and C. Ray Pierce of Coatesville, two daughters, Jane A. MacDonald of Sugar City, Colo. and Mary L. Sears of Gap. There are three grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. from The Labs Funeral Home, Inc., 141 Pequea Ave., Honey Brook, Pa., with Pastor Keith Price officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Methodist Cemetery. A calling hour will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the memory of Margaret to Masonic Village Hospice Care, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, Pa. 17022.
