Martha L. Shanley of Pottstown

Martha L. Shanley, 77, of Pottstown, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Chester County Hospital.

Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late James Harold and Anna Armstrong Lowe.

She was a 1954 graduate of Downingtown High School, and was employed as a telecommunications frameman for 31 years, the last job being with Verizon.

A former member of Central Presbyterian Church, Martha enjoyed playing the banjo, gardening and vacationing. She also loved being with her Cocker Spaniel and companion, Sunshine.

She is survived by her children, James Shanley (Linda), Judi Kentzel (Wayne) of Downingtown, and Sandra Miele (Rich-

ard) of Coatesville. She is also survived by her brothers, George and James; and sister, Ruth Lowe, all of Downingtown; and by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in Forks of the Brandywine Cemetery, Glenmoore.
