Harland E. Moidel of West Grove

Harland E. Moidel, 66, loving husband, devoted father, grandfathe­r, brother, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 5, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. His love and devotion to his family as well as his steadfast belief in God supported him in his battle with glioblasto­ma that ultimately gave him peace.

Harland was born July 12, 1948 to Sanford and Dorothy (Bigman) Moidel in McKeesport, Pa. As a youth the family relocated to southern California where he was educated and served in the California National Guard.

Harland lived for many years in Houston, Texas area where he met and married his wife, Patricia who survives him along with children, Ryan Moidel and grandsons, Haden and Braden of Baytown, Texas, Adam Moidel and granddaugh­ters of Richmond, Va., Brad and Jamie (Moidel) Stancik of Tomball, Texas, Edward and Rebecca Segovis and granddaugh­ter, Mia of Allentown, Michael Segovis of West Grove, and Holly Moidel of West Grove. He is also survived by his sister, Steve and Janis (Moidel) Tower of California, sisters in-law, Pam (Mike) Edwards, Paula (Dean) Thompson of Ohio and Monica Kibler of Texas.

life-long friendship­s with his colleagues in which he held close to his heart. “Loved and liked by so many, Harland impacted countless co-workers’ lives through his respectful and humorous nature. Harland was an inspiratio­n, amazing leader and true friend to all of us. He will be greatly missed.”

Harland was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Peter Kebler, and niece, Colleen Kibler.

A prayer service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at Assumption BVM Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, where friends and family may visit from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in New London Presbyteri­an Church Cemetery.
