Mary Dulaney Donia, 85, of West Chester, Pa. passed away May 6, 2015 peacefully at home with her loving husband, Joseph F. Donia Sr. by her side. They shared 66 years of marriage.

Born August 16, 1929 in Newtown Square, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James E. Dulaney and Luvinia L. Ritenour.

Mary was a member of the 1947 Marple Newtown High School graduating class. She met her husband while visiting Lenape Park in West Chester and they married following World War II.

Mary retired from West Chester University in 1990 after 18 years as an Executive Assistant to the President and later to the Director of the Library.

She was the dear mother of Monica D. Crawford (Chris) of Lansdowne, Joseph F. Donia Jr. of Glenmore, and Regina M. Desmarais (Peter) of West Chester; and devoted grandmothe­r of eight.

After Mary and Joe launched their first boat, the Jo Mo Gina in 1961 the family spent a lifetime boating on the Chesapeake and created many happy memories.

As a young mother she volunteere­d with the Girl Scouts as a leader. When her children were grown Mary enjoyed volunteeri­ng at the Devon Horse Show, Chester County Day and Thorncroft Therapeuti­c Horseback Riding.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday May 9 at the St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester. Prior to mass, visitation will be held at the church starting at 9 a.m.
