Walter A Gundel, formerly of West Chester

Walter A. Gundel, 91, of Elizabethtown, formerly of West Chester, died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster.

He was the husband of the late Jane Werkheiser Gundel with whom he shared 70 years of marriage at her passing.

Born May 4, 1923 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Charles J. Gundel and the late Caroline Schoenheiter Gundel.

Walter served his country in the Navy during WWII.

He was a member of the Hiram Masonic Lodge No. 81 located in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia.

Walter is survived by his children, Sandra G. Brehm (Robert) and Gary C. Gundel, both of West Chester; granddaughters, Dr. Caroline Shedlock, Kellyanne Labenski,

and Rebecca Gundel, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen S. Gundel and brother, Charles J. Gundel Jr.
