Anne E. Park

-

Beloved by so many, Anne Park peacefully passed to the next life on October 8, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Born in Lakewood, Ohio, Anne grew up in several locales through her formative years, which solidified her love for adventure, as well as her genuine adoration for people in community. After college, she lived and worked at a commune in Oregon, then moved to Long Beach, California where she cared for her brother Jim during his extended illness. It was during this time she also became a member of a Yogic Ashram and served there for ten years. Here Anne developed her skill as an accountant that served her so well when she returned to the East Coast in the late 80’s. True to her caring, compassionate nature, her return was to support her mother Joan after the passing of her father William. She ultimately settled in East Fallowfield in 1990. “Waffle Valley”, as she called it, was a much loved home.

Anne lived her life as a true disciple of the Holy One, which she observed as the “spirit who lives in all things.” She believed in the “oneness of all” and that “we are all related”. She considered herself a servant of God, and much like Saint Francis whom she followed with devotion, she committed herself to countless environmental and wildlife causes. In this devoutness, she walked many paths throughout her life: from yoga to the shamanic earth path, she was also a follower of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and was dedicated congregant of the Temenos Church in the Swedenborgian Tradition. Anne was passionate about raising awareness and money for wolf education and protection, and in support of this cause, she produced “Journeys of the Wolf”, a CD of music and many performances. Anne loved music and was both an avid drummer as well as a joyful singer; she played with the WolfSongs Drum Ensemble and was a founder of the regular WolfSongs Drum Circle. In addition to bringing people of all ages and paths together in these ways, Anne and her dear friend Christine often went to area hospitals to drum and spend time with oncology patients, supporting them through prayer and music. Anne was a Reiki Master and co-founder of the Bryn Mawr Hospital Reiki Clinic, where she brought comfort to many. Anne worked for Dynamic Team Sports for over 20 years, and considered all of her colleagues there, especially the company owners Scott and Jill Samter, part of her extended family. Anne also served as a Trustee and President of Temenos Retreat and Community from 2012 through 2015. She greeted all who came to Temenos as if welcoming them home, and was committed to sharing the joyful light and sacred lands of Temenos with the world.

Anne is held in the hearts of her loving brothers Fred of Santa Rosa, CA and Mike (Barbara) of Gilroy, CA. She was the adored Auntie Anne to her nephews Michael Min Woo Park (Katie) of Santa Monica, CA, Tyler, of Boulder, CO, Bryant and niece Katherine Beem. She was preceded in death by brother James Allen, father William K and mother Joan H. She also is held in the hearts of her east coast family Christine and Ian Campbell; her much loved Ohio relatives along with her church, work and drumming families.

All family members would like to express their heartfelt thanks for the incredible care she received from the entire staff at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital throughout her illness. They were a true blessing.

In lieu of flowers, Anne requested that all donations be made to the Temenos Retreat: (Temenos 1564 Telegraph Road, West Chester, Pa. 19382 www.temenoscommunity.org) for the continued upkeep of this Sacred and Special place.

A Celebration Service of Anne’s life will be held during Church on Sunday, November, 8th, 10:00a.m. at Temenos. Temenos is located at 1564 Telegraph Road, West Chester, Pa. 19382
