Eugenia A. ‘Jeanne’ Prysock of West Chester

-

Eugenia A. “Jeanne” Prysock passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in West Chester, Pa. She was 75 years old. Jeanne grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, but kept her Southern accent and charm even though she spent almost 50 years in Sacramento. When she and her husband, Rod Prysock, first moved to Sacramento, they rented a house across the street from Lee and Nancy Qualls. The Qualls became their closest friends, and Jeanne was blessed to have them in her life for over half a century.

In 1979, Jeanne and Nancy decided to go into business together, and opened a deli in Rancho Cordova, Calif. Jeanne worked long days but loved every minute of it. Their great food-and family atmosphere-kept The Depot in business for 17 years.

Jeanne was an avid sports fan, and loved watching her kids and grandkids play sports. She was a fixture on the sidelines (or in the stands) for soccer, baseball, football, basketball, hockey, and tennis games and matches. She always cheered loudly for the good guys, and treated to ice cream regardless of the outcome. Though she spent most of her life in California, she never lost her love of the Atlanta Braves. This proved challenging to her kids and grandkids, but they accepted her affliction as a charming character flaw.

Jeanne is survived by her son, Mark Prysock, and her daughter, Cynthia Read. She also leaves behind a beloved brother, Walter Adams, and sister, Alma Dowdakin. Her five grandsons-Will, Ben, and Owen Prysock, and David and Matthew Read-will miss her loud laugh and homemade cookies. She was a truly loving mother and grandmother, and she will be missed.

The family will hold a memorial service for Jeanne at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Chester, Pa. on Tuesday, October 20 beginning at 11 a.m.
