Arch G. Knisely III of Lancaster

Arch G. Knisely III, 90, died peacefully in his sleep at his son’s home in West Chester on December 17, 2015.

He was the husband of the late Margaret Shettel James Knisely with whom he spent 58 wonderful years.

Born January 25, 1925 in Harrisburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Arch G. Knisely Jr. and Elizabeth L. Knisely.

Surviving is a daughter, Barbara Pranckun (John) of Juno Beach, Florida and four sons; the Honorable Howard F. Knisely (Tammy) of Lititz, Arch G. Knisely IV (Nancy Thornberry) of Westfield, N.J., William S. Knisely (Michelle) of Pensacola, Fla., and Daniel R. Knisely (Mary) of West Chester. Arch also has 15 grandchild­ren and eight great grandchild­ren. He is survived by a brother, WNicholas Knisely, Mechanicsb­urg and was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph D. Knisely.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10 to 10:30 a.m. at the Highland Presbyteri­an Church, 500 E. Roseville Rd., Lancaster, PA 17601; followed by his Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m.

A private burial with Military Honors will be held at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made in Arch’s memory to Neighborho­od Hospice, 795 E. Marshall St., Suite 204, West Chester, PA 19380 and/or Highland Presbyteri­an Church at the above address.
