Tuesday Time Apart worship

Hopewell United Method

ist Church: Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in Bower Chapel, 852 Hopewell Road, Downingtow­n, will hold Tuesday Time Apart worship. Each week during Lent, there will be a special service of candleligh­t, prayer, music and scripture. The theme of the series is “Ponderings of the Heart: A Mother’s Reflection.” Focusing on scenes in the New Testament where, Mary, the mother of Jesus is present and worshipper­s are invited to ponder the model of a faithful disciple which she gives. ist Church: From 7to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, enjoy a buffet breakfast at the church at 18Addison St., Oxford. Cost is $6for adults, and $3for children 3to 10. Mid-Winter Afternoon Tea

Romansvill­e United

Methodist Church: Enjoy afternoon tea Saturday, Feb. 27, from 2to 4p.m. at the church, 1859 W. Strasburg Road, Romansvill­e. The United Methodist Women of the Romansvill­e Church will set the tea tables with their personal china and tea sets for this event. The menu includes freshly brewed tea, a variety of homemade finger sandwiches, homemade scones with Devonshire cream, lemon curd and fancy desserts. Gifts and door prizes will be part of the festivitie­s. Tickets are $15per adult and $10for young women 12and under. Proceeds from the event will support the cost of shipping 100shoe boxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child project. The congrega--

tion is busy the entire year either knitting or sewing items such as hats, gloves or small bags along with shopping for gifts to donate such as flashlight­s, grooming items, jump ropes, balls, puzzles, tools and much more. Once all items are gathered, the congregati­on (including the children) help pack the boxes. These boxes are sent all over the world with Christian teams who share the Gospel message with the recipients in their own language.
