Police file criminal charges in two separate incidents
DOWNINGTOWN >> The following are reports from the Downingtown Police Department:
Criminal mischief to an automobile
Downingtown police said that Robert L. McCullough, 61, of Philadelphia allegedly took a crow bar to the rear windshield of another person’s automobile. The incident occurred approximately 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, in the parking lot of Wawa located at 1083 East Lancaster Ave. in East Caln Township.
Police said that McCullough lost his temper when a vehicle parked near the air station that he wanted to use. As the vehicle drove away, McCullough grabbed his crow bar and allegedly smashed out the entire back windshield of the vehicle.
According to the police report, the criminal charges filed against McCullough are: criminal mischief – damage property, possessing instruments of crime, and disorderly conduct – engage in fight.
DUI
Downing tow n po - lice said that Joseph Eric Samuel Jr., 24, of Coatesville, was stopped by police at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7 on Manor Avenue. An officer made the traffic stop after they said they witnessed the vehi-
cle Samuel operated had swerved multiple times and for not being able to keep a straight path.
Police said that upon contact with Samuel, the smell of alcoholic beverage was emanating from within the vehicle and Samuel’s eyes appeared to be red and blood shot. A field sobriety test was performed. Samuel was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence.
Criminal mischief
Downingtown police
said that George Smith, 44, of Downingtown was reported as having kicked in a front door to a home in the 200 block of West Lancaster Avenue at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
Smith left the residence when he realized police were notified and on their way, according to the police report. Police said Smith was cited for criminal mischief – damage property.
