The driver of the Hyundai told the police Boyd allegedly did not stop for a red signal, police said.

Police officers said they found Boyd smelled of alcohol, and she reportedly performed poorly on field sobriety tests, resulting in her arrest for DUI. Boyd reportedly refused a blood test and awaits a preliminary hearing, police said.

Careless driving

Police officers received a report of erratic driving in the 100 block of South High Street at about 1:45 a.m. April 30, which led them to Jonathan Ramirez, 24, of Kennett Square. He was reportedly found driving around 50 mph in a 25 mph zone and almost striking two parked vehicles as he swerved on the road, police said.

Ramirez was stopped and placed under arrest after failing field sobriety tests. He was released on summons, pending a preliminary hearing, police said.
